Who we are
St Peter’s, Dunchurch is a growing and welcoming church at the heart of our community.
We believe in welcoming every age and every stage of faith — whether you’ve been a Christian for many years, are exploring faith for the first time, or are simply curious. You will find a warm welcome, a place to belong, and space to grow.
We gather for worship in different ways. Our 10:30am service offers a balance of family worship and traditional elements, creating space for all ages to worship together.
Alongside St Peter’s, we are blessed with St Edmund’s, our Chapel of Ease, and we are trusting God for the exciting plans He has for its future. We believe God is at work among us, calling us forward in faith as we serve our parish and beyond.
Above all, we are a church on a journey — growing together in faith, hope, and love, and seeking to live out the gospel in everyday life.
You are very welcome to join us.
Our Purpose
We exist in Dunchurch to worship God, make disciples, and transform communities.
This shared purpose shapes what we do and the way we lead together.
Our Values
A family is often defined by its shared values.
In the same way, the Church is like a family.
As we seek to live out our purpose, we recognise that we will not always get this right, but we long to be a family who:
Welcome
We long to be a community where every person is known, valued, and able to belong. We seek to welcome everyone into a church family that truly feels like home.
“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you.” — Romans 15:7
Live Authentically
We choose authenticity over performance. We grow together through humility and transparency, knowing that we are not here to impress, but to become more like Christ.
We value relationships over results, taking God seriously while not taking ourselves too seriously.
Encourage
We intentionally speak life. We avoid gossip and harmful speech, choosing instead to honour and respect one another and to seek understanding across different perspectives.
“The tongue has the power of life and death.” — Proverbs 18:21
Serve
We give more than we take. We believe the local church is God’s hope for the world and is therefore worthy of our time, talents, and resources.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” — 1 Peter 4:10
Journey Together
We love our church building, but we know that we are the Church. God calls us to walk faithfully together through every age and stage of life.
We believe we are living within God’s story — honouring the past with gratitude, engaging the present with faith, and trusting Him as we discern a new chapter together.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33
